Before & After Pics: 30 Pounds Later

So I was hanging up some clothes and I ran into a green top that I have had for a LONG time, like about 7 years ago long time!!! I was a Jr. in high school when I bought it. And then I remembered, I had pictures of me wearing that same shirt in Disneyland. I went to go look for the picture and sure enough, I was wearing it. I WAS 30 POUNDS HEAVIER than I am now.

The LEFT pic is from Spring of 2005, I was about 159 lbs.
The RIGHT pic is from today, about 129 lbs.

Emotional Porn

FOR MEN

When men glut their physical lust after pictures of airbrushed women full of silicone, they become dissatisfied with real women’s bodies

FOR WOMEN

When women feed their gaping emotional holes with chick flicks and unrealistic romance, they are unsatisfied with the real men they know because they can’t live up to the guys from the Notebook, Pride and Prejudice, Twilight and A Walk to Remember.

Fantastic Love Meal

I wanted to bless my husband for all the great things he did for me, like buying me a Ford Mustang convertible! So I cooked him up a VERY NICE meal.
Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
  • 1 (16 ounce) package linguini pasta
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 cube chicken bouillon, crumbled
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 4 green onions, sliced diagonally into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

  1. In a large saute pan, heat oil, butter and garlic over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until juices run clear. Remove chicken from pan let cool and slice diagonally into long strips. Reserve oil in pan.
  2. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to directions on package. Drain.
  3. Reheat oil in pan, add onion and saute, stirring often, until onion is soft but still white. Add bullion cube and water; bring to a boil and simmer uncovered for approximately 10 minutes. Stir in cream, milk, green onions and Parmesan cheese.
  4. Place pasta in a bowl, layer chicken slices in a decorative pattern over pasta, pour sauce over top of chicken and around pasta. Garnish with parsley or any herbs you desire. Serve immediately. This would also be great with a glass of Chardonnay. We didn't get any, I didn't really think about it.

I hope you enjoy it as much as my husband and I did!

For the Love of Basketball

Now ladies, if you have a man, you know that he has some sort of obsession with a sport or a hobby. If you don't know this, their obsession is their "sweet" getaway. Usually, men will go here when they have too much on their mind or they want to get some things OFF their mind!

Today, Justin played basketball - with a broke ankle! He tore it the day before yesterday. It swelled up to a size of a baseball.

After the game
He wasn't supposed to play - we were only there for support. But a man's pride will not allow him to watch his team lose for they were down by 12. So a little after halftime, he limped his way to go change into his basketball clothes... Now WHY DIDN'T I STOP HIM??????

One thing I have learned since being married is that sometimes, I am not ABLE to talk him out of things. I know it wasn't wise, BUT when a man's mind is made up, stopping him will only make him more apt to prove you wrong. So I ENCOURAGED him and told him to be careful.

It was a great game. Justin, with a broken ankle, played only 8 minutes but scored 6 POINTS!!!! His team did still lose, by 2 POINTS! Justin just being there and participating in the game encouraged the other players to hustle. And this is why I LOVE HIM SO MUCH. No matter what the circumstances are, my husband will at least try becasue he knows he can do it.

Some people give up because they know they're not going to win anyway - and that's what you call a true failure.

Some try - because in their effort, they increase the chances of winning.
